Infrastructure for Supporting Networked Robotics System Relying on Intermittent Communication

We expect that many robotics devices work in collaboration with various resources spread over the Internet. We discuss an architecture model and its requirements for an infrastructure supporting networked robotics devices. We assume autonomous robotic devices as our use cases. We also assume the existence of a control center for the devices. We especially focus on an intermittent communication environment, where an always-on connectivity is unavailable. Our question is, how to realize a service as an entire system for such environment, and what infrastructure can meet the service requirements. This paper gives the requirements and a possible solution of the infrastructure.
