Mobile Monitoring of Toddler's Body Temperature For Early Effort of Febrile Seizure Prevention

Toddler is the age of children who are still deeply affected by the weather conditions of the surrounding environment. The environment's weather changes unstable such as in Indonesia, greatly affects the condition of a toddler. With such uncertain conditions, toddlers susceptible get fever. Fever is a disease that is often experienced by toddler aged. Fever is indeed not a serious illness for toddlers, but who would have thought that the fever which reaches very high temperatures in the body rectal temperature above 38°C, it will lead to other disease that is febrile seizures. The aim of this research is to build mobile monitoring system for body temperature to prevent febrile seizure using sensor devices and android devices. Monitoring system uses sensors and android devices that can be monitored remotely. Sensors use in capturing the rectal body temperature of toddler which caught in the armpit, then sent the data of temperature to android device using wireless in conducting monitoring. The experiment results show that android device can monitor the toddler's temperature and expected to reduce the rate of febrile seizures occurring in toddler caused by a high fever, where a febrile seizure can potentially cause damage to brain tissue.
