Impacts of Switching AC Filters of UHVDC Converter Stations on Harmonics

To verify and evaluate the impacts of switching AC filters of converter stations on harmonics, the harmonic of HVDC power transmission project converter station under different filter combinations is researched. In this paper, harmonics measurement and simulation research under different types of unitized AC filters are given. Results of measurement and simulation show that switching AC filters of converter station may cause amplification, predict the possible harmonic amplification accident in converter station, also give suggestions on filter switching.
