Faulty Feeder Identification Method in Resonant Grounding Distribution Network

In resonant grounding distribution network, identifying faulty feeder of single line-to-ground fault is still a significant challenge because of the complicated working conditions and the weak fault current typically. The existing methods lack of reliability are not adaptive in all fault conditions. This paper proposed a novel approach to efficiently identify the faulty feeder in resonant grounding system based on the transient zero-sequence component. The faulty feeder is able to be naturally discriminated by employing the inner product of transient zero-sequence voltage and transient zero-sequence current. The value of inner product is positive in faulty feeder while it is negative in healthy feeders. Simulation results and comparative analysis under various kinds of fault conditions demonstrate the higher reliability and excellent efficiency of the proposed approach.
