A Method of Statistical Compensation of Brightness Shifts for De-Striping of Satellite Images

One of the troubles that often arise at processing raw satellite data is the appearance of stripes on the received image. The presented paper regards the sources of the stripes and analyses some possible ways of stripes correction. A new method based on statistical compensation of brightness shifts is suggested. The suggested method does not take into account the nature of the reflecting objects, but allows fast and easy correction of striped raw data.
