Open-End Winding Multiphase Installation Regulated by Modified Techniques of Space-Vector PWM

Novel techniques of space-vector pulse width modulation (PWM) have been disseminated for synchronous adjustment of dual five-phase inverters of open-end winding installation. The proposed PWM techniques have the benefits of symmetrical operation of inverters, and minimization of undesirable voltage subharmonics of the output frequency of systems. The proposed PWM techniques give a good performance of systems in the zone of overmodulation. Modified techniques of space-vector PWM insure voltages symmetry of five-phase dual-converter system with both equal and unequal voltage amplitudes of dc-links, and also for both integer and fractional values of frequency ratio between the switching frequency of inverters and fundamental frequency of the system.
