Analysis of Stocks by the Use of Clustering and Classification Algorithms

This paper concentrates on analysis of a stocks data set. It compares different clustering and classification algorithms using Weka software. Different factors for performance and parameters for judging the algorithm are used along with the parameters important for analyzing the data set are proposed. We compare the results of each algorithm applied on the data set and propose the algorithm that works best for our application as well as our data set. This is the first step towards developing an application to assist the students who have just graduated college and are placed with a job or the members of the society who lack the skills to invest and manage money and cannot afford consultancy services. We want to provide a platform that will help the people with their daily expenses and provide them with investment options at the same time.
