Wide Band Stripline Circulator at Ku Band For Space Applications

Wide band 3 port Stripline coaxial circulator at Ku band is introduced. The proposed design covers all different sub-band of Ku band frequencies which are being utilized in satellite transponders. The design utilizes Y -Junction ferrite operating at below resonance.25% Wide bandwidth in proposed circulators is achieved using a quarter-wave transformer coupling at all the ports. Excellent insertion-loss variation <; 0.2dB, insertion loss<; 0.5dB, Return Loss>20dB & Isolation>20dB over 10.5 GHz - 13.5 GHz have been demonstrated to meet stringent specifications of satellite communication systems. Stable performance of circulator over temperature range -10 °C to +60 °C is achieved. The circulator also survived qualification level Sine & Random vibration test for Satellite application.
