A Two Element MIMO Dielectric Resonator Antenna for WLAN Application

Two port multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) based dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is proposed for application in IEEE 802.11 (4.9 GHz) band. The antenna is realized using two hemispherical shape dielectric resonators. For improvement of port isolation, the antennas are excited from opposite direction. Isolation is noticed as more than 25 dB. The antenna offers impedance bandwidth and peak gain of 6.1 % and 6.3 dBi, respectively.
