Low Cost High Performance S band Diplexer for CubeSat

The work presented inside this paper represents development of the cheap diplexer small and light enough to be fit into a CubeSat 1U housing, allowing full duplex communication with CubeSat nanosatellites in S-band through the common antenna port. It is aimed to be used in growing nanosatellites market with goal to optimize antenna systems reducing number of radiating elements. Designed diplexer demonstrates insertion loss at Tx part below 1 dB, while Rx filter loss is below 1,2 dB. The isolation level of more than 80dB is achieved in simulation and proven by prototype. Hardware samples have been built and tested, providing results that fully meet device specification.
