Compact High Isolation SIW X-band Diplexer for CubeSat Nano-satellites

This paper presents development of the cheap SIW diplexer small and light enough to be fit into a CubeSat 1U housing, allowing full duplex communication with CubeSat nanosatellites in X-band through the common antenna port. Novel SIW filter technology is used after deep technology study. A set of mechanical and thermal analysis has been perform to assure the device is appropriate for the intended use in space. Achieved isolation levels are superior to any other planar filtering solutions known to authors, while other RF parameters, size and weight are attractive and fully acceptable for CubeSat application.
