Application of the Power Balance Method in a System of Nested and Oversized Cavities

This paper presents an experimental application of the Power Balance method in the case of a nested coupled-cavity system. Indeed, a system of four coupled cavities inserted within a mode-stirred reverberation chamber is experimentally investigated in this paper. The aim is to compare the total average electric field computed with the method from indirect computations of the electric field using scattering parameter measurements. It is particularly interesting to note that the results are in good correlation even if 1) some cavities are not directly connected from apertures with all the others and 2) if only some cavities are loaded with absorbers.
