Diagnostics of Defective Areas of Liquid Insulation of Oil-Filled Electrical Equipment with Structural Heterogeneity

The reliability of high-voltage oil-filled electrical equipment is largely determined by the quality of liquid insulation. An analysis of the technical state of the oil-filled equipment insulation is an extremely difficult task, since the insulation assessment includes a large number of parameters. In this case, there arise problems in assessing the degree of danger of the detected insulation defect due to the multi-factor nature of the task. In such a situation, the diagnosis of the state of the oil-filled high-voltage equipment insulation is a very urgent task. Based on the results of experimental data processing, the authors showed the possibility of detecting defects in liquid insulation of oil-filled high-voltage electrical equipment at their early development stage. It is demonstrated that a liquid dielectric with microinclusions has distinctive acoustic characteristics that are not used today in diagnostics.
