A Penta-Band Frequency Reconfigurable Patch Slot Antenna for C-Band Applications

A novel compressed frequency reconfigurable patch slot antenna is designed using reconfigurable feedline method and Defected Ground Structure technique (DGS) for C-band applications. The planned antenna is designed on FR4 dielectric, substrate height 1.6mm, relative permeability 1, relative permittivity 4.4 and loss tangent 0.0018. It has simulated using Ansys HFSS (High Frequency Structural Simulator) software. The performance of antenna is analysed from return loss characteristics, VSWR, bandwidth and gain. It operates on five different resonance frequencies applications which provides return loss below -10dB at the resonance frequencies of 4.037 GHz, 5.72 GHZ, 6.96 GHz, 7.49 GHz and 8.135 GHz.
