A Synchronised Hybrid SVPWM Technique Based on MDAVT Switching Sequence for Reduced THD

This work proposes a synchronised hybrid SVPWM technique based on multiple division of active vector time (MDAVT) switching sequence to reduce line current ripple. The SVPWM technique uses conventional sequence (0127), clamping sequence (012, 721), advanced clamping sequence (0121, 7212) and MDAVT sequence (01212, 72121) in the subcycle period. The optimum sequence suitable for a reference vector is identified by the magnitude and location of the reference vector. The corresponding sequence results in lower current harmonic ripple. The proposed hybrid SVPWM technique lead to a significant reduction in THD over conventional SVPWM (CSVPWM) at linear range of modulation index. The superior performance of synchronised hybrid SVPWM technique is verified with experimental results on a 415V, 2. 2kW induction motor drive.
