Background Gas Collision Frequency Shift on Lattice-Trapped Strontium Atoms

Collisional induced frequency shift due to background gas are currently known only theoretically. However, we show that the this source of systematic uncertainty is at the level of 10
¹⁷
for cold strontium atoms trapped in an optical lattice, and cannot be neglected in the accuracy budget calculation. Furhter measurements are being performed in order to better understand how to precisely account for this effect.
