Coupling Reduction of Antenna Array in 5G MIMO Frequency Band below 6GHz Based on Multi-feed Technology

In this paper, a decoupling design of an eight by eight MIMO antenna array with four choke grooves structure is proposed. By properly choosing the position of the feeding and shorting pin on two symmetrically placed radiator can get a relatively low isolation, adding four choke grooves on the ground can further reduce the isolation between eight feed ports. All of eight antennas work at 3.5 GHz band, and the measured results prove the proposed antenna has excellent performance. This special design will make it more compatible for a phone with metal frame using in 5G wireless environment.
