Computation of the electric field around a wet polluted insulator by analytic and finite-difference techniques

A benchmark problem of a cylindrical insulator with a wet and dry band is formulated. An analytic solution was obtained and numerically evaluated and compared with the solution obtained from a finite-difference technique. The agreement was found to be excellent.
