Decoration of Au Nanoparticles on Monolayer MoS2 Transistor

The transistor based on decoration of Au nanoparticles on a continuous monolayer molybdenum disulfide (MoS
₂
) film prepared by chemical vapor deposition, has a surprising electrical and optoelectronic properties. The continuous monolayer MoS
₂
film is decorated with Au nanoparticles via an ion beam sputtering method. Au nanoparticles on the surface of MoS
₂
form surface plasmon resonance with MoS
₂
when a laser beam illuminates them. In this paper, we compare the difference between monolayer MoS
₂
transistor based on decoration of Au nanoparticles and bare monolayer MoS
₂
transistor. At some aspects, MoS
₂
transistor based on decoration of Au nanoparticles is better than MoS
₂
transistor, such as, the sensitivity of light. Thus, the decoration of Au nanoparticles on transistor possess potential application in the electric and optoelectronic industry in the future.
