Development of Near Real-Time Audio-Visual Alarm System for the Philippine Earthquake Intensity Meter

Earthquakes are sudden and cannot be predicted when, where and how harmful it could occur. Alert systems need to deliver vital information just as quickly as possible. In this paper, a near real-time audio-visual alarm system feature is integrated in the Philippine earthquake intensity meter. By applying this technology, it can give a loud alarm notification and the necessary information needed by the PHIVOLCS personnel could be obtained right away through the smart TV.
