Design of Manufacture Professional Training and Assessment Information System in The Implementation of PBET (Production Based Education and Training) Learning Activity Model

The application of PBET (Production Based Education and Training) learning system in manufacturing field introduces holistic-educative basic concept where the place of education and training becomes an integrated system unit. One of important activities in PBET is practice assessments. This research will improve practice assessment system by developing an information system of professional training to help instructor in controlling and monitoring the achievement the students. The information system is equipped with RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology which is used to determine the starting time of the practice in its finishing time. The development of this information system uses FAST (Framework for Application of System Thinking) method which has eight phases. The first five phases are the phases of system analysis and the next three phases are design. The basic analysis uses framework of PIECES (Performance, Information, Economic, Control, and Efficiency, Service) to identify the problem and to perform continuous improvement in order to gain better result. The result of observation and interview were done by content analysis, descriptive analysis using assessment of System Usability Scale (SUS). The result of data analysis showed that the SUS score is 72.5 which means it that falls into the acceptable category and reasonable to be applied.
