Fire Analysis of Ancient Buildings Based on Cable Aging

In order to protecting ancient buildings, this paper takes the fire caused by cable aging in ancient buildings as a breakthrough point, analyzes the causes of cable insulation aging. Focusing on the theory and considering the influence of temperature on resistance, a more practical formula (formula 11) for temperature rise of cables in ancient buildings is deduced. The thermal aging equation of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) insulating layer obtained from Arrhenius empirical formula was modified by the modified algorithm. This paper briefly analyzes the influences of single-phase grounding fault and grounding resistance too large on the cable insulation aging, puts forward some countermeasures to prevent insulation aging according to the physical quantity affecting cable temperature rise and the current situation of ancient buildings. Among them, the temperature rise formula and thermal aging equation obtained by quantitative analysis can provide some references for technical personnel of ancient buildings electrical fire prevention.
