Study on Maintenance Interval control of Heat Exchanger in Aircraft Systems Based on MSG-3 Philosophy

This paper proposes a maintenance program improvement method in the aircraft system. Starting from the generation of maintenance program, this paper establishes the optimization process of the system parts of maintenance program, including reliability data collection, data preprocessing, data distribution exploration, data distribution analysis, engineering analysis, engineering conclusion, engineering verification and corrective measures. For data collection, MSG-3 as the first philosophy is followed. JMP software is introducted in reliability data distribution exploration, and data distribution analysis. At the last of the paper, heat exchanger in aircraft air-condition system is taken as an example to verify maintenance optimization process, according to minimum maintenance cost model, the optimal maintenance interval, which meets the system reliability requirement, is obtained and consistent with the judgment of engineering experience.
