Three-parameter Control Scheme based on Adaptive Pole Assignment for an Underwater Shaking Table System

The underwater shaking table, an important device for underwater vibration test, is widely applied to civic engineering, marine engineering and many other fields of submarine structure tests. And the three-parameter control scheme is frequently used to control the underwater shaking table system and provide good control performance. However, the acceleration control performance of the underwater shaking table is greatly influenced by the added mass caused by the fluid-structure coupling. Under the added mass’s influence, the bandwidth of the system is reduced largely and a resonance peak exists in the system frequency bandwidth. In order to enlarge the frequency range and suppress the resonance peak, the adaptive pole assignment control method is adopted to online adjust the parameters of the three-parameter control scheme. The simulation results show that the frequency range of the shaking table system is widened and the resonance peak is also suppressed by using the proposed control scheme. Furthermore, the system acceleration control accuracy is greatly improved.
