Modeling of fluorescent lamp for electronic ballast

This paper introduces a fluorescent lamp model based on gas discharge phenomena. This paper proposes a nonlinear fluorescent model that can be applied to the electronic ballast, considering radial particle distributions and uses the new numerical analysis method which is combined 2nd order Runge Kutta method and FDM. This hybrid method made it possible to calculate the density profile without radial profile assumption within reasonable computing time including the circuit equation. Simulation and experimental results were presented to verify the feasibility of the modeling.
