Amplitude and phase estimations in the shortened measurement time using average values of signal

This paper presents algorithms for fast measurements and estimations of the amplitude and phase of the fundamental periodic signal component in the shortened measurement time below one period upon preceding estimation of frequency using the average values of signals. In estimations, the first two of Rife-Vincent windows class I are used: the rectangular and the Hann window. First, the relative frequency is estimated by the quotient of the average signal values or the DC DFT coefficients, and then the amplitude and the phase could be estimated by changing the number of points in the measurement interval. Analyses of the proposed algorithms are supported by adding offset, harmonic components, and noise to the signal.
