Comparative Study on a Modular Rotor and AlCiRaF Permanent Magnet Flux Switching Machine

The structure of segmented rotor or modular rotor is compared with the salient rotor pole of alternate circumferential and radial magnetization permanent magnet flux (AlCiRaF) permanent magnet flux switching machine (PMFSM). The comparison is made based on topology, material and conditions setting furthermore properties setting. 2D finite element analysis (FEA) is used to analyze the performance in terms of output torque and power. After analyzing simulated results, it concluded that the modular rotor PMFSM accomplishes the highest torque 33.30Nm at maximum current density 30 Arms/mm

which is better than AlCiRaF PMFSM.
