Theoretical Study Coagulation of Aerosols in Thin Resonant Gaps

This paper describes a theoretical model of the process of coagulation of dispersed particles in a thin resonant gap formed by coaxially arranged a flat radiator of ultrasonic oscillations and a reflector. It is shown that the presence of bending oscillations of an ultrasonic radiator and gradient of sound pressure leads to the appearance of acoustic vortex flows in a resonant gap with a characteristic size equal to half the wavelength of acoustic oscillations. It has been established that the formation of acoustic vortices provides an increase in the concentration (more than 4 times) of dispersed particles in the immediate vicinity of the surface of the reflector, which contributes to an increase in the probability of their collision. It is established that for a gap of 20 mm in 6 seconds, the total mass of aerosol particles decreases by more than 3 times.
