Simulstion Analysis of Universal Flyback Converter Using Matlab Simulink

Rate of growth of low output power application devices is very high since last few decades. Hence, the old technics of converting the power ac to dc, linear regulated power supply, is being replaced by the switched mode power supply (SMPS) circuits very promptly. The famous SMPS circuits are used in various electronic equipment's power supply, e.g. mobile phone chargers, laptop adaptors etc. Flyback converter topology is one of the circuits in SMPS family, which is being discussed in this paper. Flyback converter can operate on the wide range of universal ac input (85V-265V) and also provide isolation between input and output voltages. In this paper, the flyback circuit topology is developed for two output voltages i.e. 5V and 12V dc and is being simulated using MATLAB Simulink and results are discussed.
