A method for predicting IT vulnerabilities using Branching Processes – an outline

Being able to predict vulnerability existence in future software releases may have a considerable impact on assessing software security risk during its lifecycle. Some of the existing quantitative models for vulnerability analysis have been developed relying on dedicated software data thus, their real scenario implementation may be sometimes limited. The article focuses on the attempt to propose an outline of the method for predicting software vulnerabilities, based on the use of Branching Processes.
