Optimization of the “Magic Carpet” Parameters

We present an optimization study for the magic carpet parameters. Using simple models and scalar diffraction theory, we calculate the light sheet depth of field (DOF) and thickness for different mask dimensions. Experimental results confirm the numerical results. The results serve as a guideline for selection of the mask depending on the application.
