Numerical Simulation of Protection Effect of Lightning Shielded Wire of Buried Cable under Different Arrangements

Laying lightning shielded wire is one of the main measures for lightning protection of buried cables. In this paper, the electric field intensity calculation model of buried cable with lightning shielded wire is established by using finite element software, and the lightning protection effect of the shielded wire is analyzed. The study found that the different arrangement of buried cables has no significant effect on the maximum electric field of the cable. The increase in the number of lightning shielded wires will increase the lightning protection effect, but one has a good lightning protection effect in most cases. The radius of the shielded wire increases, and the protection effect becomes better. Considering the economy, the radius does not need to be too long. As the distance between the shielded wire and the cable increases, the protection effect first becomes better and then deteriorates.
