Selective Properties of Two- and Three-Resonator Multistep Comb Structures and Highly Selective Filters Based on Them

In this work, new design principles of integrated microwave electronics basic elements - microstrip filters with enhanced frequency selectivity are explored. It is shown that by specifying the required configuration of the topology of multistep comb microstrip structures, it is possible to form in them a great number of working attenuation poles at finite frequencies by providing a certain balance of electromagnetic coupling between non-adjacent resonators at different parts of their length. This opens up new possibilities for creating highly selective microstrip filters based on compact structures with a significantly limited number of resonators.
