Metasurface Modeling for the Manipulation of Goos–Hänchen and Imbert–Fedorov Shifts

We derive immittance tensors for the analysis, synthesis, and characterization of linear metasurfaces (MSs) illuminated at arbitrary angles of incidence. Their closed-form expressions are verified for two representative examples using full-wave simulations, and they provide physical insights into the operation of the considered MSs. We use these expressions to study exotic phenomena related to reflection and transmission of electromagnetic waves from these MSs, specifically to tailor Goos-Hänchen and Imbert-Fedorov shifts.
