Transient performance of power circuit including virtual inductance realized by fully digital controlled variable active-passive reactance (VAPAR)

An inductance affects the response of power circuits. The authors have already proposed a variable active-passive reactance (VAPAR) which can be virtual inductance in power circuits. The previously proposed VAPAR can not generate both positive and negative inductance with the same controller's parameters. In order to overcome this inconvenience, in this paper, a new control method is proposed using a flux controller. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through simulations and experiments. On the other hand, a negative inductance, which is one of the notable features of the VAPAR, is not stable alone. The characteristics of a negative inductance have been discussed in an RL circuit in the previous studies. In this paper, power circuits including a negative inductance and capacitance is analyzed from the view point of the stability.
