Design of a 2-18 GHz downconverter with amplitude and phase consistency

In RF detecting systems, downconverter uses local oscillator to convert radio frequency (RF) signal to low intermediate frequency signal. In this paper, a design of 2-18 GHz downconverter is proposed. The working frequency is 2 to 18 GHz with a processing band width of 1 GHz. The linear dynamic range of the downconverter is larger than 40 dB, the no-false dynamic range is larger than 50 dB, and the noise figure is better than 6 dB. The downconverter adopts hybrid integrated circuit technology, inside which multi-function chips, MEMS filter bank and built-in multi-level digitally controlled attenuator and digital phase shifter are used.
