Connected healthcare system to monitor the blood pressure of clients with an unobtrusive device

The Internet of things is increasingly being applied in healthcare. We propose a connected healthcare system that enables monitoring of a physiological parameter, blood pressure (BP), to improve team-based healthcare. The system provides unobtrusive monitoring, a highly efficient database, and interventions by health professionals. This report focuses on the core technologies of our system, particularly those involved in BP monitoring. A cuffless BP-monitoring system and web-based care system, including a database, were designed and tested. The system functioned as expected and may facilitate home-based healthcare. Finally, the regulation of healthcare systems, particularly cuffless BP monitors, is discussed
