Simultaneous Interception Guidance Strategy in Nonlinear Framework

This paper proposes a suboptimal nonlinear guidance strategy to achieve simultaneous interception by two interceptors against a stationary target, using a nonlinear framework. The time of interception is not pre-specified, rather is computed online using a current time-to-go estimate. The guidance strategies for both interceptors are designed using a suboptimal finite-time state dependent Riccati equation technique. This technique provides finite-time tracking for input-affine nonlinear systems with specified terminal constraints. Performance of the proposed guidance strategy is evaluated using numerical simulations for various engagement scenarios, and found to be satisfactory.
