Principles of reliability improvement of fiber-optic sensors for rocket and space equipment and aeronautical engineering

General principles of reliability improvement of fiber-optic sensors manufactured for rocket and space equipment and aeronautical engineering are proved. Causes of failures at designing, developing, manufacturing, operating and maintaining stages of rocket and space equipment and aeronautical engineering have been detected. Potential methods of reliability analysis applied for fiber-optic sensors at early development stages have been discussed. The necessity for development of new techniques for evaluating FOS figures of merit while performing accelerated reliability tests has been justified.
