Modeling the Initial Shape in the Tasks of Automating the Design of Electronic Means Placement on a Flat Material

The analysis of modern technologies and tools of life cycle management of electronic means allowed to conclude that the most time-consuming stages of modeling and design of printed circuit boards are quite fully automated. The CAD of printed circuit boards, leading in the market, allow to design boards from library components, but for the automated design of boards of complex shape and for the optimization of the placement, by number of criteria, of non-standard components on them such CAD systems are not suitable. Such tasks belong to the class of NP-difficult tasks, and the automated placement systems are more consistent with their solution. The used methods and the accuracy of the placement depend on ways of presenting the information about the blanks and the placement areas. The article analyzes the use of methods of representation of the geometric shape of parts, including electronic means, depending on the accuracy of the layout in the tasks of automated design of the placement of shaped blanks of flat shape on the material and provides recommendations on the applicable scope of the methods of representation.
