Comparative Study of the Analog and Digital Operation for Miniature Railway Systems

In this paper we will present a comparative study of the analog and digital operation of miniature railway systems. Both operation modes are largely used for the operation of miniature model trains, and each one has its own advantages and disadvantages. Modern miniature trains, also known as “model trains”, are now designed and built with state-of-the-art technologies. Due to their very complex internal structure, the model trains are to be treated as miniature robots and to be operated with great care, according to their specific requirements. It is possible to use the analog system with digital trains and vice versa, but it is advised to avoid such situations in order to attain optimal operation and experience.
