Si-compatible Mid-infrared Photodetectors Based on 2D Materials

We study 2D materials embedded in Si compatible nanostructures for mid-infrared photodetectors. The structures use nanoholes to trap light and embedded graphene layers. It was shown that optimization can significantly increase absorption and extend operating wavelength region.
