Current and future applications of non-invasive and invasive brain-Computer interfaces

Brain-computer interfaces allow to control external devices in real-time and to extract EEG parameters in real-time. They are either realized with non-invasive EEG electrodes or implanted ECoG grids and use evoked potentials, or oscillations in the alpha, beta or gamma range for the control. Applications range from stroke rehabilitation, coma assessment to the functional mapping of the eloquent cortex or avatar control.
