Simulation and Optimization of Vehicle Side Airbag

Computer simulation model of side crash PSM substructure on driver's side is established based on MADYMO software and the correctness of the model is verified by vehicle test. By analyzing the effect of airbag on ES-2 dummy, three parameters that influence the performance of airbag are chosen. 20 groups of simulation experiments are carried out by using uniform design, and the response surface model is established based on 20 sets of simulation data. Finally, the response surface model is optimized by genetic algorithm and the best combination of three parameters is obtained to improve the protection ability of the side airbags and reduce the damage to the occupants.
