Analysis on the Influence of Haze and Fog to the Detection Distance of a Composite Seeker

In order to obtain the influence law of haze and fog environment to the detection range of a rockets composite seeker, based on the aerosol extinction coefficient calculation formula, the relationship of detection range and wavelength, humidity, visibility were established. The change rule of the detection distance of visible band and infrared band with visibility and humidity under haze condition was calculated and analyzed with MATLAB. According to the visibility division of haze and fog environment, the applicability of the method based on the weather forecast index was established. Theoretical calculation result shows that, in hazy weather, visible light detection equipment can be used in moderate pollution and infrared detection equipment can be used in severe pollution, and in foggy weather, the visible light detection equipment can be used in the yellow alert and the infrared detection equipment can be used in the orange alert.
