A Method of MSK Signal Phase De-mapping Based on Maximum Likelihood Squared Timing

According to the phase continuity of Minimum shift keying (MSK) signal, this paper proposes a method of phase de-mapping based on maximum likelihood squared timing, and gives a detailed theoretical derivation. The feasibility and effectiveness of the method are validated by MATLAB simulation software. The Symbol Error Ratio (SER) performance of the proposed method on white Gaussian noise channel is tested. Compared with other methods that use phase continuity to decide symbols, this method uses the maximum likelihood squared timing theory to achieve symbol synchronization before extracting the sampling points, effectively overcoming the error effects caused by poor sampling position. Moreover, this method does not require auxiliary data and is simple to implement, which makes the method widely available.
