Quadrotor Design for Outdoor Air Quality Monitoring

Air quality has direct impact on the human health. Its high pollution levels can cause health problems. So, it is highly important to monitor air quality to prevent environmental pollution and improve human quality of life. In environmental applications, one of the most promising directions is measurements with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The use of UAV has great interest due to their advantages over ground vehicles like high maneuverability and easy deployment. The main scope of this study, is to present a custom UAV design capable to perform environmental monitoring missions. While in computational fluid dynamics simulations was investigated UAV's propulsion system influence on gas measurement solution placement.
