Formation of Silver Nanostructures in Different Surrounding Media via Photoreduction

In presented study, the synthesis of silver nanostructures in aqueous solution and Saccharomyces cerevisiae water extract by laser irradiation is described. Absorption spectra of the silver nanoparticles synthesized in two different surrounding media are obtained. The absorption spectra of synthesized in an aqueous solution nanoparticles after irradiation by red, green, and blue light are characterized by clearly pronounced two absorption peaks. The absorption spectra of synthesized in the yeast solution nanoparticles are characterized by one absorption peak. However, the position of these peaks is red-shifted in both cases. Thus, using different surrounding media for the silver nanoparticles synthesis by photostimulated reduction, one can obtain nanoparticles with the given shape and shift of their absorption peak to the desired spectral region.
