Employee Protection Systems Against Hazards in the Processing Plant

The security systems during the production process in a fish and vegetable processing plant are a very important element, because they affect the proper functioning of machines and the safety of people who work with them. At the selected workplace there are installations that protect employees and allow for safe work. These include circuit breakers, residual current devices and surge arresters. Appropriately designed and constructed installations, the correct manner of their use and protection of workers guarantee both - the safety of employees and the correct operation of machines. In the working environment, the use of machines supplied from the mains causes that employees are often subjected to the influence of electromagnetic fields emitted by these devices, being unaware of it. The purpose of the conducted research was to analyze the hazards present in the fish and vegetable processing plant and to conduct measurements on the electromagnetic field emitted by selected devices in the production hall. It was aimed at reassuring employees that their work environment does not expose them to additional hazards associated with the impact of fields with values exceeding the limit. The test results confirmed that the values of emitted fields do not exceed the norm and the electromagnetic field does not threaten the safety and health of employees.
