An Efficient Hybrid DE-WOA Algorithm for Numerical Function Optimization

A newly hybrid algorithm called DEWOA is proposed with the combination of Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA) and Difference Evolution (DE). The main idea of this algorithm is to integrate the ability of exploitation in WOA with the ability of exploration in DE to synthesize both algorithms' strength. To evaluate the solution quality and the performance of the proposed algorithm, some unimodal, multimodal, and fixed-dimension multimodal benchmark functions are tested, whose results show that the proposed algorithm is feasible and effective.
